The Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge encourages everyone to ride for a purpose, and to use the event to make a difference.

Many cyclists have used the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge as a platform to raise funds and awareness of causes for years and in 2010 this was formalised into the Ride for a Purpose campaign.

It recognises that participants are pushing themselves to achieve personal goals and suggests to all the cyclists who take part that it is simple and tremendously rewarding to attach a social goal to their ride too.

Whether a cyclist rides to raise funds for a charity, in memory of a loved one, to support a cause or to show that a disability is no impairment to living an active life, the idea is to add another dimension to the event, beyond the physical challenge.

The Ride for a Purpose campaign reflects the principles of Lead SA, which calls on South Africans to stand up, do the right thing and make a difference. By riding for someone or something else, cyclists can make an impact on their community.
